There was a heavy frost last night, so I had to wait before I climbed to the roof this morning. I did groundwork until the frost burned off.
The sun was beaming when I started working up top, but my position at the peak was cold, due to a north wind. The shivers numbed my kidneys and mind, plus the constant running of my nose made the job miserable.
Around a quarter to one I tacked on the last ridge cap, and slid down the roof to a point sheltered from the wind. There I felt the heat.
The sun had warmed the roof shingles. I took advantage by stretching out on my back, to a feeling like lying on hot rocks. It made me happy to feel the warmth creep through my clothes and up my spine. For two minutes I had bliss.
And then I remembered.
Small town.
They all think I'm weird already.
It would be best if I wasn't seen napping on the roof.
The job is poking along.
Hopefully in a few days I will be finished, and writing about something else.
Hopefully.
Have a great night.
